Official Community Plan (OCP)

An Official Community Plan (OCP) is a comprehensive policy document designed to guide the physical, environmental, economic, social and cultural development of the municipality.  Whether a large or small municipality, the OCP expresses the vision, guides council with decision making and is a blueprint for future development.

In September 2016, the Town of Wadena embarked on their OCP under the consultation of Prairie Wild Consulting. Together with a volunteer Steering Committee, Wadena is excited about the process and outcomes of the project.  To learn more about OCP preparation and process, please click here

Main Street Saskatchewan Program

The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport (the Ministry) established the Main Street Saskatchewan Program (MSSP) to support communities in their downtown revitalization efforts.  Through the program, the Ministry provides coaching and training in the Four Point Approach, coordinates networking and other learning opportunities, and promotes the development of the Main Street Saskatchewan brand.  The Ministry also oversees the grant funding that is available to local Main Street programs. There is currently no funding available under this program.

The Town of Wadena was accepted to the program in September 2016 for the Affiliate Tier. This level involves workshops, preparation of the Accredited tier and introducing the program to the community.
