Garbage & Recycling Collection

Greenland Waste is a regional waste management system that provides door-to-door commercial and residential garbage collection for the Town of Wadena.

Garbage & Recycling collection takes place once per week as follows: 

Monday: Residential
Friday: Commercial garbage and recycling pick up.

Acceptable Recycling Items

The Town Shop also accepts certain items for recycling:
  • Old automotive batteries. May be dropped off in front of shop and will be disposed of accordingly by Public Works
  • Scrap Metal. There is a 30 cubic bin located on the south side of the shop where scrap metal can be disposed of. 
  • Small appliances. Microwaves and other small appliances such as toasters, skillets etc. can also be disposed of in the scrap metal bin.
Please note that refrigerators and freezers are not accepted at the town shop. For disposal of a dishwasher or stove, please contact the town office at 306-338-2145
