7.I.

Bylaw Officer Information

The Commissionaires are finalizing their routes for this year and are looking for an update on whether Wadena is looking to engage their services for the 2019 season. Council received the attached information at the February 11 meeting and indicated that it would be considered during budget deliberations.  
7.II.

Volunteer Firefighter Insurance + EFAP

Information regarding volunteer firefighter benefits was presented to council at the Dec 10, 2018 meeting (attached) and at the Mar 4, 2019 meeting as follows, "Review of the cost for adding the volunteer firefighters under Wadena's benefits plan (can be subject to condition of the cost being deducted form our annual levy). The Biggest benefits package available plus the EFAP (Employee & Family Assistance Plan (i.e. Counselling & other services)) is approx $3400 a year to cover all first responders and fire fighters (approx $1220 plus taxes and fees without the EFAP)."

Administration is looking for direction on this item.

Wadena Wildcats Dressing Room Request

A request from Wadena Wildcats for alterations to the Rec Centre to expand their dressing room is attached.

Request for Leave of Absence - Museum

A request has been received for a leave of absence from the Museum Board.

Request for Leave of Absence - Council

A request has been received for a leave of absence from Council.

Request to Take Title

A request has been received from a property owner for the Town to take title.
10.V.

Firearms Bylaws

The Town's Animal Control Officer is not authorized to discharge a firearm in town to deal with crows, skunks, and the like. 
10.VI.

Purchasing Policy - Purchase Order Review

The Procurement and Purchasing Policy adopted by council in September 2018 requires the use of purchase orders, which was a new procedure for staff to follow. The intent was to streamline the coding of receipts, however, in practice this has not produced an effective result. Administration is requesting Council's authorization to prepare an amendment to the policy to removing the purchase order requirement.

Investing in Canada Infrastructure Grant Program - Expression of Interest

The deadline is approaching for the expression of interest submission for this program. We have submissions for Parks & Rec, but to date have not prepared anything for Public Works.
