Wadena & District Fire Association
For all emergencies, CALL 911
The Wadena & District Fire Association serves the Town of Wadena, RM of Lakeview, RM of Sasman, RM of Elfros, Village of Margo and provides a service contract to the Fishing Lake First Nations Band #89. This area is a 900 sq. mile district and is operated by many dedicated volunteers.
In addition, this fire department is part of a larger mutual aid group which consists of providing and receiving assistance from communities as far as Quill Lake, Rose Valley, Archerwill, Kelvington, Lintlaw, Invermay, Margo, Foam Lake, Wishart and Wynyard.

- Ice rescue
- Chemical suit required emergencies
- Three (3) sets of Jaws of Life
- Ground control and fueling of the Stars Helicopter
- Jon boat for water rescue
- ATV for grass and other rescue missions

To report a Controlled Burn (large or small), please call fire dispatch at 306-338-2345. There is no charge.

- Type of burn
- Time limit of burn
- Contact number
*This is a mandatory requirement and must be called in before all fires are set. This will eliminate land owners from receiving an unwanted bill from the fire association from the trucks and men responding to the scene.
Group Tours
Groups of four and more can schedule a tour to meet Sparky (friendly mascot) and learn more about the equipment, trucks and facility. For more information or to book your experience, please call Harold Narfason or any of the volunteer members.
Volunteerism / Donations
Every year the fire department organizes fundraising events to help with the purchase of much needed additional equipment. If you would like to get involved or donate, please contact any one of the volunteer fire brigade. Every donation, large or small, as well as donated personal time is greatly appreciated!
